Few people know that 1999’s The Matrix star is a part of a 90s rock band. The 61-year-old John Wick lead has had a successful music career too, alongside numerous hits that he has been enjoying in Hollywood.

Keanu Reeves’ band Dogstar features Reeves on bass guitar, Bret Domrose as lead guitarist, and Robert Mailhouse on the drums. The band was born in 1991 in a garage in Southern California, where three friends came together to fulfill their dream of playing music.

The band members announced last year that they would begin their Tour: Europe 2026 in June and July, which would feature stops at Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Paris, and Berlin. The tour follows their reunion in 2023 after 20 years and includes both headline club shows and major festivals across the continent.

The news was shared on Instagram with a poster that included all dates and locations of the upcoming tour. The post explained their performances will be held in Ireland and the United Kingdom before moving to France, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, and more.

The first show is on June 11, 2026, in Dublin, while the last is on July 18 in Budapest. The comments section was instantly filled with excited fans as they could not wait to see Reeves and his fellows perform in London.

The tour is named the “All in Now” tour, which is to support the launch of their fourth album of the same name. The album will be released on May 29, 2026, on their own label, Dillon Street Records.

Would Keanu Reeves’ band Dogstar be this popular without him?

Keanu Reeves came up with the title of the song “All In Now,” which is a headbanger. The title signifies a “no-nonsense” approach to the band’s comeback and their commitment to making music together once again. The title represents the band’s current headspace and dedication.

According to the band members, it is a song that sums up what they are as a band. It gives the vibe of their live performances, where the fans are fully invested in enjoying their music.

Lyrically, the song means they have self-responsibility and are responsible for their chosen paths. They are here with confidence, and the party should continue, as they have arrived after a long time at “that” party with full zeal. It is that attitude of “let’s go” that marks their spirited return.

The band was dormant for almost two decades due to busy schedules for each band member and the thriving acting career of Keanu Reeves. After their final performance in Japan in 2022, the band went on an indefinite hiatus that is now broken with “All In Now.” Watch the official music video here:

Reeves’ stardom acts as a major attraction for the band’s media attention, which helps the brand land high-profile spots. In the 1990s, people were curious to see the Hollywood star play bass after his massive success in The Matrix (1999).

According to Far Out Magazine, Reeves declares music an essential part of his life. Apart from acting, he has been into music all his life, even if his band saw moderate success with 2023’s “Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees,” which gained acclaim from the music critics.

Firstly, a dedicated music fanbase knows about the Dogstar band (even I got to know about the band myself after years, being a die-hard Reeves’ fan; my bad!), but even if one does, being a fan of Dogstar means being a fan of Reeves first. Fans are more interested in celebrity music, and his persona has added to the brand’s popularity for years.

Though this is a biased image of the band, for many, the discovery of Dogstar does not begin with the music itself. It begins with Reeves, the cultural figure. His reputation as one of Hollywood’s most beloved and mysterious celebrities pulls curiosity toward anything associated with him, including his music career. Even longtime Reeves fans are often surprised to learn that he has been seriously involved in a rock band for years, just like me.

In that sense, Dogstar benefits from what could be called ‘celebrity-curiosity fandom,’ where public fascination with the individual becomes inseparable from the interest in the art they create. The band’s identity is frequently filtered through Reeves’ fame. While Dogstar’s visibility is undeniably amplified by Reeves’ presence, the brand’s continued relevance probably says something larger about modern celebrity culture.
